Nestled between two of Washington’s best-known volcanoes – Mounts Rainier and St. Helens, the White Pass Scenic Byway town of Morton serves as a supply stop for some and a recreational base for others. Morton offers both lodging and dining options, as well as support services. The community boasts the charming 1930s historic Roxy Theater captivating audiences through song, dance and dialogue. For a historic look at the community, see the renovated Morton Depot. Built in 1910, it is a source of pride for this mountain community.
Throughout its history, Morton has been known as a logging community. Even today the economy still relies on logging, though logging has decreased. It is home to one of the byway’s major annual events, the Loggers’ Jubilee. It's a lively affair held each August celebrating Morton’s heritage with a parade, logging competitions and displays.
