Boat and Seattle Skyline
Visit the sternwheeler W.T. Preston, an important reminder of Puget Sound maritime history, housed at the Anacortes History Museum. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Preston served Puget Sound waters for more than forty years before the Army Corps of Engineers retired her. The boat is now permanently dry berthed along the Anacortes waterfront. In addition to this historic ship, the Museum also features various highlights of the area's maritime heritage including charts and maps, local fishing industry, commercial and residential town scenes, club activities, farming activities, local scenery, and portraits of prominent city citizens.
