From Canada to Mexico, this mother of all trails hits all the major points in Washington, cutting through several mountain passes including Chinook, Stevens, White and Snoqualmie, two national parks, four volcanic peaks and numerous alpine lakes. Make an afternoon out of the hike, or spend days backpacking through some of the most stunning wilderness in the country.
The Washington portion of the renowned 2,650-mile trail zigs and zags its way from the Columbia River Gorge to Canada, skirting two national parks, four volcanic peaks and numerous alpine lakes. Day-trippers and backcountry hikers find hundreds of entry points along its path.
Weaving its way north from the mountains of Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington, the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) boasts the greatest number in elevation changes of any of America's National Scenic Trails. The trail traverses several lakes in the Park before crossing the historic bridge that marks the summit of Chinook Pass highway before continuing to wind its way north towards Canada.
