Okanogan County Historical Museum
The Old West has left its mark here! The County Historical Museum tells Okanogan’s story through models, photographs, and displays of old relics including an original 1879 log cabin. On your journey along the Okanogan Scenic Byway, be sure to stop in and gain a little perspective and respect of the area’s colorful past.
Located on the banks of the Okanogan River in the City of Okanogan adjacent to Legion Park, the museum incorporates elements important to the Old West -- Native Americans , fur trading, explorers, cattle drives, mining, homesteading, railroad and irrigation development and the construction of hydroelectric dams. There are exhibits, models, photographs, and displays pertaining to local history, including a replica of an early 1900's Old West town, and a life size replica of the old Okanogan fire hall filled with antique trucks and fire equipment.
