Bonneville Dam

The Bonneville hydroelectric dam in the scenic Columbia River Gorge is one of the best sites in the Northwest for viewing annual salmon and steelhead trout runs.  The dam includes fish ladders with viewing windows where visitors can watch fish pass as biologists count them. A visitor center is open year-round with extended hours in the summer. Watch the fish ladders for several different species of salmon including chinook, coho and sockeye, as well as steelhead trout.
