Located in the southeast corner of the Olympic Peninsula on the eastern edge of Olympic National Park, the Hood Canal Recreational Area is known for its lakes, rivers and Olympic Mountain peaks. Along the many miles of trails visitors can enjoy hiking, backpacking or horseback riding along gorgeous rivers with names like "Dosewallips" and "Hamma Hamma." The area is also known for its access to saltwater recreational activities like fishing, kayaking, harvesting clams and oysters. The area has plentiful facilities for camping, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
