Chief Timothy Park is situated near the original site of the Nez Perce Indian Village occupied for over 8,000 years. The park’s 282 acres include freshwater shoreline for fishing, swimming and waterskiing among other outdoor activities.
Eight miles west of Clarkston, on Highway 12, Chief Timothy Park lies along the Snake River. The park is located near the original site of a Nez Perce Indian village occupied for 8,000 years. The village was visited by the members of the Lewis and Clark expedition in the spring of 1806, where they met the boy who grew up to become Chief Timothy. The park is known for its majestic scenery, boating, camping, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, swimming and water skiing.
