Salmo Priest Wilderness Area

Located on west slopes of the Selkirk Mountains, this area contains old growth Western red cedar, Douglas fir, and western hemlock trees. It also hosts the largest big game population in the lower 48 states with grizzly and black bear, cougar, caribou, elk, deer, lynx, and wolverine making their home in the surrounding meadows and forests.
