South Whidbey State Park

The gorgeous and remarkably private South Whidbey Island State Park offers secluded campsites under lush, old growth forest canopies and a saltwater shoreline abundant with shellfish.  With breathtaking views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, it is one of those enchanting places that you're both anxious and reluctant to tell people about.

Columns of old growth Douglas fir and big leaf maple trees guide you downhill to the beach. An interpretive trail traces the top of the bluff where picnic tables and perfect lunch spots sit tucked away. In the off season you may well have this place all to yourself. Gray whales pass by here along Admiralty Inlet in the spring and fall on their annual north-south migration. Pack a picnic for a secluded visit just off the Whidbey Island Scenic Isleway.  For more information, visit South Whidbey State Park.
