Located in the foothills west of the Okanogan River, along the Okanogan Scenic Byway, the Chiliwist Wildlife Area of nearly 5,000 acres of land is a great setting for year-round outdoor recreation. Cross-country skiing, hunting, and wildlife viewing are all popular activities. Anglers find fishing opportunities on Chiliwist Creek. A variety of wildlife including mule deer, white-tailed deer and golden eagles are known to frequent the area as are turkeys, doves, blue grouse and other upland birds. To access the area, take Chiliwist Road off old Highway 97 two miles south of the rural community of Malott.
