Fort Spokane

Route 25 Miles, WA USA

Established in 1880 to resolve conflicts between the Indian tribes of the north Columbian plateau and the white settlers arriving in the area, it was closed in 1898 and used as an Indian boarding school and tuberculosis hospital. The fort is now part of the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area and offers a historic look into the past. For more information, visit the Fort Spokane Military Reserve
