Ready for lunch? Box Canyon Picnic Area is located just past the bridge and tunnel on the Stevens Canyon Road. After lunch, you can walk across the bridge for a dizzying view of the deep slot of the canyon, carved by the Cowlitz River thousands of years ago. The gorge is over 100 feet deep and in spots as narrow as 13 feet.
