The trailhead for the Baker River Trail, located 20 miles north of Concrete, WA, provides opportunities to observe mountain goats from December through May. Goats can be seen most days during these months on the mountain cliffs across the river from the trailhead.

Viewing Info

Binoculars are stongly encouraged for best viewing.

Directions

From SR 20, drive north on the Baker Lake Road located 5 miles east of Hamilton and 7 miles west of Concrete. The trailhead is located at the end of the road (Forest Road 11).

Safety Info

The road is often not passable due to snow from December through February. The last 5 miles of road are not paved, but are passable to all vehicle types.
