To reach Alpine Lookout, follow the Round Mountain Trail #1529 1.6 miles to an intersection with Nason Ridge Trail #1583. Go left on this trail and follow the ridge line to the lookout.
The Alpine Lookout Trail is a difficult 10.5 hour hike. Allow five hours to complete. The trail is accessible summer to early-fall. From Butcher Creek Road #6910 turn right on Road #6910 towards Round Mountain Trail. The parking lot and trailhead for Round Mountain Trail are not far up the road.
