A county road leads up, up, up to the top of 3,800 foot Chelan Butte with fantastic panoramic views of the Cascade Mountains to the west, the eastern Washington bread basket to the east, and the Columbia River and Lake Chelan. A world famous hang gliding launch, watch the hang gliders as they swoop their way from the summit down to the base of the butte. Several trails off the main road are popular with local hikers and mountain bikers.
