Agnes Gorge Trail

One of the top picks for an easy day hike in the Stehekin area, venture out on the Agnes Gorge Trail.  Only 2.5 miles in length one way and only 300 feet elevation gain, this scenic trek is a great option for a family hike.  Open areas along the path reveal stunning views of 8,115 foot Agnes Mountain.  Two miles into your hike, cross a small stream and arrive at Agnes Gorge in another half mile.  This is the location of a suspension bridge that once reached across to the gorge’s other side.  Backtracking 50 feet or so, follow a path continuing along a stream and down to the water’s edge; the site of a pretty 15 foot waterfall and the perfect stop for lunch.

To find the trailhead, bike or take the bus two miles to High Bridge and hit the trail heading up-valley.  At the top of the hill you will see Agnes Creek Trail taking off to your left.  This is not the trail you want. Continue past the road that leads to High Bridge Campground about 125 feet and you will see where the Agnes Gorge Trail leaves the road on your left.
