Not only will this exhibit be featuring textile artist and author, Sandy Bonsib but it will also be featuring "As the Needle Turns" with the students of Nancy Chong and quilts from the permanent collection.

Museum of Northwest art presents the work of Seattle-based glass artist Boyd Sugiki. Included in this solo exhibition are his tall, elegant forms based on architectural elements. Inspired by a trip to Istanbul, Sugiki created abstractions of the ever-present tall minarets of the mosques that dot the Turkish city's skyline.

Five Northwest painters walk the line between abstraction and representation. The exhibition features works by Philip Govedare, Mary Iverson, John Keppelman, Margie Livingston, and Kelly Neidig. In landscapes, figurative scenes, and compositions in line and perspective, these artists weave abstract elements into representational paintings and vice versa.

This exhibition is held in conjunction with the release of Angell's latest book, Puget Sound Through an Artist's Eye, which features his drawings, sculptures, and the author's observations of Puget Sound wildlife that inform his art. Angell maintains studios in Seattle and on Lopez Island, and retired in 2002 after thirty years as the Director of Environmental Education for the State of Washington.

The Onyx Chamber Players returns to perform a dual bicentennial anniversary celebration highlighting the music of Mendelssohn and Haydn as performed by Stephen Daniels (violin), Meg Brennand (cello), and David White (piano) and joined by Mel Butler on viola. The Onyx Chamber Players, based in Seattle and Chicago, are gaining recognition for their fresh interpretations of masterworks from the Classic era by combining a unique blend of early musical performance style with the brilliance and virtuosity of modern instruments.

This 5K race will support the building of a La Conner skateboard park. Registration starts at 7:30am and is available the day of the race or you can pre-register. The La Conner Turkey Trot is a non-competitive race as participants predict their time with the closet predictions being the winners. No watches allowed, turkeys! Bring your entire family and join in for a pre-turkey race to support a great cause for kids. Caution: Wild Turkeys may be on the race course.
