Palouse
Mount up in your modern covered wagon and see an ocean of green rolling hills in the Palouse. 208 miles of quilted farmland comprise this scenic byway and having hosted the routes of Native Americans, pioneers and settlers, this land has its share of history. The massive Steptoe Butte looms over an ancient battlefield; an 1890's flour mill still grinds; old letterpress printing methods are preserved alongside collections of eastern Washington's historical newspapers.
Hiking, biking, fishing, or camping locations are plentiful and fantastic views of a land drenched in sun and rich in history await those who follow this path.
